About Decision Easy
Decision Easy's core aim is to inform, support and assist our ageing population, those people with a disability, their families, friends and carers in clearly defining their choices and empowering them with information about their own home and the changes they can make so that they may continuing living there as long as they choose.
The situation facing thousands of Australians

The fact is most people want to be able remain in their own homes as long as they choose, remaining in the community rather than moving into residential care or other accommodation.
Most housing has not been designed with older age or disability in mind, and the arrangements of the home environment often inhibit an older person's ability to manage their daily lives. Common practice is to move.
Our passion is assisting maturing Australians and those people with a disability to have a home environment that is safe, secure, comfortable and fosters independence and wellbeing.
Decision Easy – A privately owned, national firm that is offering an alternative
Ageing in Place Australia Pty Ltd trading as
Decision Easy is a private company
owned by two qualified, registered and practising architects, Wim van den Herik and Tanya Harris. Together, we have a combined design and construction experience in the Aged Care industry of over 35 years.
Through close contact with the age care industry, professional associations and our personal experience with older family member’s specific needs, we came to recognise a very real and overwhelming need to help people to remain in their own home as they matured or suffered an injury or other life changing
circumstance.
Decision Easy gives older people and those people with a disability a choice to stay in their own homes and not be forced to move by circumstances beyond their control.
By appraising a home’s suitability and determining the modifications needed to cater for the home owner’s changing needs we empower people to decide for themselves how and where they will live.
Making modifications can be far cheaper than relocating to an unfamiliar environment and should be considered as a real alternative to moving.
