Social Interaction

Spending time with family and friends in your own home is an important and enjoyable part of life for you and your family.

If you are caring for a person with an illness or disability the ability to have their friends visit them in their own home is a very important aspect of their quality of life. A home that is 'visitable' and supports the visiting of people with a disability will allow you and your loved ones to enjoy the company of all your friends.

This audit also looks at all those WPHS issue that are important to keep you healthy as you provide care but also protects the safety of external service providers that may come into your home and support you in your carers role.

Recreation

Doing the things you love and taking time out for recreation is an extremely important respite that you must include in every day. To keep you strong and grounded you must have some time to pursue the things you enjoy.

Your home can support you in these pursuits and make taking time out for yourself an easy and enjoyable time. Changes to your home can also help the ones you care for enjoy their hobbies and their home environment.
